December 2021, Tokyo District Court. Akihiro Ehara is accused of assaulting a woman on a crowded train. An amateur video of him trying to escape before being apprehended makes the headlines. Public opinion is upset and demands justice.

"Three days ago, a body must have been found in an abandoned building in Yokohama. Have you been able to identify him?" he asks, causing confusion in the courtroom.

Since Ehara is not on trial for murder, his lawyer, Saori Shirosaki, understands that key elements of the case have been overlooked. She contacts Detective Takayuki Yagami to start a new investigation.

How could Ehara have committed two crimes at the same time? Was the sexual assault used as an alibi? Did Ehara set up the entire justice system? As Yagami continues his investigation and more and more victims surface, a question haunts him: should he defend the law or deliver justice?

The line between right and wrong is much thinner than it seems...

In Lost Judgment, play once again Takayuki Yagami, a former lawyer turned detective who never hesitates to fight. Alongside Masaharu Kaito, a former yakuza, this duo of vigilantes is brought in to investigate a crime that seems perfect, and for which the main suspect has an irrefutable alibi. What at first appears to be a case of revenge soon reveals a far more complex conspiracy, with several factions taking advantage of a corrupt judicial system. As the list of victims grows and Yagami gets closer and closer to the truth, a dilemma looms: to defend the law or to deliver justice.
